What I write down about you, and what I don't. Plain talk.

Hank the Ball Driller

Forty years at the shop, I never kept a customer file I'd be ashamed to show the customer. Same rule here. Here's the whole list, no fine print.

The short version, Hank-style

The shop

Who runs this site, and where do I write?

One name covers the site, the books and the membership: Hank the Ball Driller.

Any question about your information goes to [email protected].

Walking in

Do you track me when I just look around?

No ad cookies. No tracking pixels. No Google or Facebook trackers. No analytics scripts.

No account to make, no sign-up form to fill out.

The site sits with Cloudflare, our host. Cloudflare processes your IP address to get the pages to you and keep them safe.

The register

When I buy a book, does my card number come to you?

No. Hotmart runs the checkout and collects your name, email, billing and payment details. Your card number never reaches us.

Hotmart sends us your email, what you bought, the price, your country and which video or link you came from.

On book orders, we hold on to a scrambled version of your email, not the email itself.

Members

What do you keep on me if I join the membership?

Hotmart fills us in on your name, email, country and time zone. Also your membership status and dates, and which video or link sent you.

We keep that to mail you the letters. The letters also tell us whether they got delivered and which links you clicked.

Half-done orders

I started to check out and quit. Will you bug me?

Maybe a checkout isn't finished, or the card doesn't go through. If so, Hotmart might send your name and email our way.

We may send two reminder emails at most. One click shuts them off. If you already bought, you won't get them.

Your notes

What happens to the questions I send you?

Your note and your email get kept so I can write you back.

At 90 days, the full raw copy of your email gets wiped. The text stays, so we can pick the conversation back up.

AI helper

Is a machine involved when you answer me?

Sometimes. An AI writing assistant may help draft our replies so you hear back faster.

Your message gets used for that and nothing else.

Suppliers

Who else handles my information besides you?

Three outfits. Hotmart takes payments, delivers the books and bills the membership.

Resend handles sending our emails. Cloudflare keeps the site running, holds our data and takes in any email you send us.

Every one of them has its own privacy policy.

What it's for

Why do you keep any of this at all?

To get you your books and letters, answer what you ask, and handle refunds.

To see which videos help. And to tell you about my other books. Those emails always carry an unsubscribe link.

Not for sale

Do you sell my name to advertisers?

No, and I'm not about to start. We don't sell personal information and we don't rent it out.

We don't hand it over for advertising, either.

How long

How long do you hang on to my information?

Membership data sits in the file while you're a member. It stays until you ask us to delete it.

Unsubscribed addresses: just a scrambled “do not email” note, so you never get mail from us again.

Order records: as long as the law says.

Your say

How do I stop the emails or get my data deleted?

Each email comes with a one-click unsubscribe link. Or just reply with the word “unsubscribe”.

Want to see, fix or delete your data? Write to [email protected]. You'll get an answer within 30 days.

That goes for anybody in the US, California included. Hotmart hangs on to its own purchase records, because the law requires it.

Age

Can kids use this site?

This is grown-up territory: books and membership alike are for adults.

We don't knowingly take in data from kids under 13.

Updates

What if you change this page?

We'll fix the page and change the “Last updated” date.
